Happy Easter

Today we celebrated the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus and his gift of salvation. I have been feeling very thankful for my salvation and for all the blessings in my life. I have a wonderful husband, a great family, a beautiful baby, a nice home, food in my refrigerator, gas in my car......any problems I have are small compared to what many people on this earth are facing today.

Baby Kate celebrated her first Easter today. It was very rainy and stormy, but we had a good day despite the weather. I captured a few pictures of her in her dress and with her Easter basket. She really wanted to try to eat the plastic grass in the basket, but I kept her from it!

Love to all.

Kate is 6 Months Old

I can't believe Kate is already 6 months old. She is babbling, rolling over back to front, grabbing her feet, chewing on everything and basically the sweetest baby on the planet!

Grant is 13!

Happy Birthday to Grant! We celebrated with a family birthday party. The menu of choice was hamburgers, salad, sweet potato fries, a chocolate chip cookie cake and vanilla ice cream.

Back To Work

Maternity leave has ended and I went back to work on Monday, April 4. Kate had her first day at Fayetteville Montessori School. The first day went well for both of us. I am working half-days Mon-Wed, so Thursday is our first "real" day!

Kate's First Fever

Kate has been sick over the past couple of days. She woke up with conjunctivitis and a slight fever, which Daddy also had, on Friday morning. We took her to the doctor who prescribed eyedrops.

She was fine all morning, but got very fussy after 3pm. Her fever spiked around 6pm to 102.8, so we headed to Urgent Care at the Pediatric Clinic. Ear, nose, lungs, and throat all clear, so we just had to monitor her fever during the night and give her Tylenol. By 2am her fever was back down to 99.5, and has stayed there. After second check on Saturday morning with the doctor, they believe it's just a virus of some sort.

Saturday she was back to her normal self, thankfully. Just a slight fever. We continue the eyedrops and monitoring her temp, but the good news is it did not spike Saturday evening, so we think she is almost over it!

Kate & Floppy

Kate loves Floppy. She was a gift from Cheryl & John, Meredith, Megan and Daniel. Bryon can make her laugh so hard at Floppy when he shakes the toy and makes his "Floppy voice".

Kate's Baptism

Kate was baptized on March 27th at Central United Methodist Church in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She did great during the ceremony and service. No fussing at all! We had everyone up to the house for lunch and to celebrate Grandma Younkin's 85th birthday. It was a busy but good day!

Montessori School

Recently Kate and I visited Fayetteville Montessori School and met her teachers, Miss Jan and Miss Beda. I really liked them! Miss Jan used to be a school teacher. Miss Beda has 3 kids of her own, one of whom was helping out that day. There is also a college-age part time girl who comes in the afternoon, but was not there because of Spring Break. We also met all of her classmates who were present that day. Another new baby will be starting on the same day as Kate. I feel good about choosing Fayetteville Montessori.

Kate is Eating Solids

After 2+ weeks of attempts at eating cereal we've moved on to pears, apples, carrots and sweet potatoes. Sweet potatoes seems to be the favorite. We've realized that she doesn't like plain cereal. She will only eat it when it's mixed with something else!

Kate 5 Months

Kate is 5 months old! Can't believe how quickly time flies. She is reaching for things, grasping and holding items and CHEWING on everything. She has also grabbed her feet a few times. She laughs a lot, especially at Daddy and Anna. She also seems to enjoy tummy time a little bit.

Spring Break

Anna and Grant both had great Spring Break trips. Anna went to Memphis with her NES Cell Group and did mission work. She says she does not want to see another leaf because they raked so many leaves!

Grant flew to Georgia to see his grandparents and had fun! Below is a picture of him boarding his flight.
